EDC Background

The Citrus County Economic Development Council Inc. (EDC) is a non-profit 501 (c) (6) corporation.  It was established in 1999 as a public/private partnership guided by a Board of Directors. 

As a pro-active, countywide coalition of businesses, business organizations, local educational organizations together with local and state governments, the EDC works to strengthen and diversify Citrus County’s economy.  The EDC strives to attract new business investment and works closely with local companies to assist them with expansion and other business needs.

To make strategic use of private and government resources and services to improve the economy, infrastructure, and quality of life in Citrus County.  To improve the quality of life in Citrus County, while promoting understanding of the business community’s problems and needs as well as those of government.
